The consequences for families can be devastating, as online platforms percolate with child exploitation. While countries worldwide have passed laws to better protect children from online harm, Canada has yet to take decisive action. The proposed Online Harms Act remains stalled in Parliament. Meanwhile, the calls for legislative change from concerned parents and experts grows louder, as the federal government continues to delay measures that could curb exploitation.
